What Collaboration Means to Holmes Murphy
Collaboration is more than just working together; it’s about combining strengths to achieve something extraordinary for our clients. At Holmes Murphy, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, and can especially be seen in the partnership between Innovative Captive Strategies (ICS) and Global Captive Management (GCM).
A Partnership Built on Trust
For over 20 years, ICS and GCM have worked side by side, building successful captive insurance programs long before coming under common ownership. The results speak for themselves:
- 25 thriving property & casualty group captive structures
- 1,200 members thriving with stabilized premiums
- $700M in premium
- $500M in profit distributions returned to members
- Thousands of ideas shared, elevating a culture of focused risk management and knowledge sharing
These achievements are powered by trust, expertise, and a shared vision for success.
Expanding Beyond Group Captives
When GCM joined the Holmes Murphy family in 2019 and became a sister company to ICS, the door opened to a new world of possibilities—far beyond the group captive space. Today:
- GCM manages around 40 single-parent captives and segregated portfolio companies (SPCs), with approximately 60 active portfolios.
- ICS’ Consulting & Management (C&M) division oversees 36 captives across 9 U.S. domiciles, offering feasibility studies, domicile reviews, and management capabilities.
Together, these teams deliver solutions that are anything but one-size-fits-all.
Over the past five years, this collaboration between GCM and ICS’ Consulting & Management division has delivered multiple successful opportunities—powered by the combined resources, experience, and knowledge of two exceptional teams: Joe Streck’s C&M team in the U.S. and Alanna Trundle’s GCM team in Grand Cayman. Together, they’re redefining what strategic partnership looks like in the captive space.
Customization Over Convenience
Every captive is unique—and so is every solution. ICS and GCM provide a boutique experience, blending knowledge of both onshore domiciles and offshore domiciles (Grand Cayman). Their combined expertise ensures that every client receives the best possible solution, not just the most convenient one.
Celebrating Industry Recognition
The industry has taken notice. As Cayman holds the title as the #1 domicile worldwide for group captives, ICS and GCM have made some notable achievements in 2025 as well:
- ICS earned the 2025 Cayman Award for Consultancy Firm of the Year
- GCM was named 2025 Captive Manager of the Year
- Special commendations went to Alanna Trundle and James Trundle for their leadership and excellence as they were nominated in the Captive Manager – Individual category.
These recognitions are a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit that define both teams—and the commitment they share to driving the industry forward.
